Because of the hardships that I have put my hair through, I decided to buy a shampoo and conditioner that would prevent further breakage and dryness to my already beaten up ends. I bought the Bed Head Color Goddess shampoo, conditioner, and treatment as suggested my hair stylist on the day I had my hair done.
The first impression I got, when I used this hair care line, was that the scent was incredible! It smelled just like caramel! It smelled so strong and so good! I loved how it just perfumes my whole bathroom with just 2 pumps. Aside from the scent, the shampoo left my hair feeling so soft. It didn't leave a dry, stiff, and squeaky-clean-feel to my hair, unlike other shampoos I've used that claimed to be hydrating or suitable for color treated hair.
PRODUCT CLAIMS: The shampoo does contain sulfate but in a lower dosage to ensure that the hair properly gets cleaned especially since that hair gets porous when bleached since the outer layer is usually opened during the process to allow the color to enter and stick to the hair. This low-sulfate cleans the hair properly "to ensure colour is brilliantly vibrant and looking its best. Smoothes and adds shines, making hair more resistant to breaking!"
PRODUCT EXPERIENCE: I didn't really notice the color becoming more vibrant with the use of this shampoo but I did experience smoothness! This product also did not really add more shine to my dry bleached pink ends nor did I see any added resistance to breakage. I'm only assuming that this product would add more shine, vibrance, and resistance to hair breakage to my hair as compare to other shampoos that aren't formulated specifically for color treated hair.
After shampooing my hair, I use the conditioner of this line, which again smell amazing like everything else in this hair care line. The conditioner properly conditioned my hair like any other conditioner, but the hydrating effects didn't really last long. I still felt like my hair ends needed extra moisture, especially at the ends of my hair.
PRODUCT CLAIM: "Keep all hair colours electric with this oil infused conditioner by TIGI Bed Head. Feed your colour addiction with this luxurious conditioner, loaded with water- repelling agents and infused with nourishing oils and vitamins, to ensure your colour sparkles. Repairs structural damage to coloured hair. Moisturizes and conditions resulting in strikingly soft hair."
PRODUCT EXPERIENCE: For the hair color, I didn't really notice my hair becoming more "electric," I just notice that it does softened my hair after use. This conditioner also cannot repair structural damage like any other conditioner since conditioners can only smooth down cuticles that have been damaged to appear better which this product did. Now the span of which this conditioner moisturized my hair, was a real disappointment. After drying my hair, I felt like the effects of smooth hair only lasted for about an hour max, after which, I felt like I needed something more hydrating, especially for my really dry and damaged ends.
So I bought a hair oil from ORGANIX, which is that Maroccan & Argan Penetrating Oil.
PAST HAIR OIL EXPERIENCE:
The past hair oil I've tried are the virgin coconut oil and the body shop grape seed oil. My main complaint about the virgin coconut oil, is that it was too thick and greased up my hair too much. I also couldn't find a decent packaging for the virgin coconut oils here in the Philippines. Most of the coconut oils here are just placed in a cylindrical container with a screw-on-cap. This type of packaging irritates the hell out of me, since I always end up with too much oil. For the second hair oil product, the Body Shop Grapeseed oil only really just provided shine to my hair. I didn't really feel any added lasting moisture to my hair.
My first impression on the ORGANIC Maroccan & Argan Penetrating Oil, was that the it was thick but not greasy. The oil was easily absorbed by my hair and the moisture lasted for hours. It detangled my hair which helped prevent breakage whenever I try to brush through my ends! I really love this product and use it everyday after I wash my hair.
PRODUCT CLAIMS: This rare formula has a centuries-old history of providing natural vitamin E and antioxidants while renewing your hair's cell structure, sealing in shine, and creating lush softness. A precious blend of Moroccan argan oil which instantly penetrates the hair shaft restoring shine and softness while strengthening. Derived from the southwest region of Morocco, argan oil protects from styling heat and UV damage while creating soft, seductive, silky perfection.
PRODUCT EXPERIENCE: Based on my experience, I did see added shine to my hair and not the oily-looking shine either. Instead it gave a healthy, natural-looking shine to my hair after it was fully absorbed. Aside from the shine, I also did notice the product softening my dry bleached ends. As for, hair strength, I didn't really notice any changes. I still feel like my hair is pretty fragile, especially since it was already pretty thin prior to bleaching and coloring. I did notice that it prevented my fine hair from tangling which helps a lot in preventing further breakage.
Aside from my daily routine of shampoo, conditioning, and oiling, my stylist recommended me to do a ONE A WEEK DEEP TREATMENT using the Color Goddess Miracle Treatment Mask for Colored Hair. Now this mask is only suppose to be used once a week and is used after shampooing as a replacement for conditioner. Like any other hair mask, this treatment is suppose to sit in the hair for 5 mins before rinsing. My experience with this product, is that it left my hair feeling soft and I feel like it added some vibrance to the color of my hair.
PRODUCT CLAIMS: Bed Head Colour Goddess Treatment Mask enhances hair colour vibrancy and depth. Smoothes the cuticle for high gloss shine. Low pH formula to help close the cuticle and lockdown pigment after colouring.
PRODUCT EXPERIENCE: I've experience all the that was written on the product claims. I did see added smoothness and shine, along with enhanced vibrancy in hair color! I'd have to say this is way better than the daily conditioner.
And that's it for my current hair care routine! I hope you guys liked it! :)
